Description
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team in Kingston, New York and help build reliable, secure, and scalable software solutions.
In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, integration, and ongoing support of custom applications across internal and cloud-based environments.
You will work closely with analysts, product stakeholders, and cross-functional technical teams to deliver practical solutions that balance business needs, technical feasibility, and long-term maintainability.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, enhance, and support custom applications and system integrations with a focus on performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to shape solution designs, define technical specifications, and evaluate integration approaches.
• Contribute to project teams delivering software across internal platforms and cloud-based services, ensuring consistent progress through iterative releases.
• Build shared components, reusable services, and development frameworks that improve efficiency and standardization across the engineering team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional application teams to create proof-of-concept solutions and translate ideas into production-ready software.
• Participate in the deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance of production applications to support stable business operations.
• Work with engineering leadership, product owners, and project managers to help plan roadmaps and prioritize development work effectively.
• Apply coding standards, development best practices, and architectural patterns while providing technical guidance to other team members.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in software engineering or a closely related development role.
• Hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core, JavaScript or TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue, or Svelte.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools, along with experience using cloud development services such as Azure DevOps or GitHub.
• Familiarity with Python development, including frameworks or templating tools such as Flask, Django, or Jinja.
• Experience working with databases and data technologies, including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and caching solutions such as Redis.
• Exposure to event-driven or distributed systems using message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, plus container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Helm.
• Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and full-stack development practices, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience working in a financial organization is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry-recognized certifications.
