Job Mission 🚀 As a Backend Engineer, you'll play a key role in turning our trading models into robust, production-ready systems - helping Tibber trade smarter so we can pass better prices and a more reliable energy experience on to our customers. You'll work closely with our forecasting team, right where trading decisions meet real customer impact. What You'll Do ✅ Build forecasts that support Tibber's trading operationsBridge model development and production-ready backend systems, working closely with the team building our ML modelsSupport both our retail trading and flex trading domainsWork hands-on with time series dataCollaborate closely with traders who act on your systems' outputs daily What we're looking for⚡ You Are Driven By Impact And Know How To Turn Strategy Into Execution. You're Used To Fast-paced Environments And Thrive When Given Clear Goals And High Accountability. We Believe You'll Thrive Here If You Have strong Python skills and experience building backend systems in ML-heavy environments (production ML, not just notebooks)Have hands-on experience with time series data and forecastingKnow how to move ML models from development into reliable, production-ready systemsAre proactive and entrepreneurial, comfortable owning your work end-to-end in a small, high-impact teamCommunicate well with both technical peers and business stakeholdersHave a background in energy, utilities, or financial markets, or experience with .NET — a plus, but not requiredTibber becomes more AI-enabled and we embrace new tools and ways of working.
