Description

About Us: Zepto is building the beating heart of Australia's real-time, account-to-account payments revolution. We're a rapidly-scaling business reimagining how money moves for some of Australia's largest merchants, organisations and payment platforms – disrupting a market that's been overdue for change for decades. This ambition has seen us recognised as FinTech Organisation of the Year at the Finnies Awards. Twice. For passionate, action-oriented people, this ambition means genuine opportunity: to build category-defining infrastructure, own hard problems, and grow a career at the pace of the business around you. This isn't incremental work – it's the kind of experience that changes the trajectory of a career. We believe in the power of positive human experiences, and that a deep sense of belonging creates cohesion in our culture. Even as a remote-first team, you'll be a contributor and custodian of that culture, solving complex problems alongside talented people who are just as driven to help us deliver on our brand promise and build 'a better way to pay' at Zepto. About the Role: Reporting to a passionate and driven Product Director, this is an incredible opportunity for an experienced product manager who owns hard problems end to end and is technically fluent enough to earn engineering's confidence, shape platform and API decisions, and get hands-on to de-risk an idea. You'll lead with the customer problem and commercial outcome, own your portfolio end to end – strategy, technical shape, launch and the numbers that follow – and be accountable for outcomes, not backlog volume. If your ambition is to build the deepest technical product craft in Australian payments, this is the seat for you. Working in a scale-up, means you get the opportunity to flex your skills in a variety of ways. We are agile and always willing to roll up our sleeves to get things done. You can, however, expect your day to day to be involved in the following: Strategy and discovery: Own the vision and lifecycle for your portfolio, sizing opportunities honestly and prioritising on customer value, business impact, feasibility and strategic fit.Technical product leadership: Partner with Engineering on scalable, secure product and API design, and own the developer-facing surface of your products – semantics, error behaviour, webhooks and documentation – as a product in its own right.Hands-on validation: Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to de-risk ideas, and use AI tooling fluently for discovery, research, spec drafting and rapid prototyping.Launch and adoption: Run launches with GTM, Solutions, Engineering, Operations, Risk and Compliance, and track adoption and performance across the full customer lifecycle.Commercial and regulatory ownership: Know your portfolio's unit economics cold, build evidence-based business cases, and partner with Risk, Compliance and Legal on regulatory requirements.Stakeholder leadership: Build durable cross-functional partnerships and present strategy to senior leadership and the board where required. About You: You tell a compelling story anchored to evidence. You have a technical brain and use it – you understand both the buyers and users of your product, including the developers who make up a large share of Zepto's user base – and you're curious enough to understand how things really work, down to the protocol if needed. You know your numbers cold, make and explain your trade-offs, and share context liberally because you know the best teams are empowered ones. You're not precious about your own ideas, and you're energised by a busy, competitive commercial environment. Specifically, we'd welcome any candidate who has: Material experience in product or technical product management, owning products end to end and measured on impact.A track record of real product discovery – sizing opportunities realistically and telling an important problem from a loud request.Strong product and commercial judgement, using data and insight to make clear trade-offs, including what not to build.Cross-functional leadership from discovery through launch, adoption and iteration.Demonstrable technical fluency – reading code, reasoning about system design, and working confidently with REST APIs. An engineering background is a plus, not a must.Hands-on experience building prototypes or proof-of-concepts.Strong understanding of payment integration patterns – APIs, SDKs, webhooks, hosted payment experiences and platform-based integrations.Fluency with modern AI tooling as part of your working practice.Bonus if you have: deep payments domain knowledge and experience owning developer-facing platforms.
