Experienced Software Engineer Cambridge (Onsite) £55-60k (Depending on experience) Skills: Either Python, JavaScript, C++, Haskell, OCaml or Rust. The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary technology team working at the intersection of software, science and advanced engineering. You will work alongside scientists, engineers and technical specialists to develop and enhance sophisticated software used within industrial sensing and imaging applications. The role offers a combination of improving established platforms and delivering entirely new products and capabilities. What We're Looking For We're looking for a strong, well-rounded Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and working across multiple technical domains. You should have: At least five years of commercial software development experience.A strong academic or professional background in a STEM-related discipline.Strong expertise in multiple programming languages. Experience with technologies such as Python, JavaScript, C++, Rust, Haskell or OCaml would be highly beneficial. (They primarily use Python/Anaconda stack with some C++)Experience working with asynchronous, concurrent, parallel or distributed systems.Good experience with relational databases and data-driven applications.A strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including automated testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery. Whilst this is a Software Engineering role. The software connexts to hardware, so in this role you will work with Software and Hardware Engineers and other stakeholders Just as importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys working collaboratively. Experience with pair programming, knowledge sharing and mentoring less experienced engineers would be highly valued.
