We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join the Payments and Accounting Technology team, which delivers secure, auditable, and modern commerce platforms for both guests and cast. This team plays a critical role in enabling seamless transaction experiences that directly support Disney’s financial operations and P&L. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, AI-enabled problem solver who enjoys building high-quality systems and tackling complex technical challenges. This role focuses on enhancing and supporting the growing digital footprint with 100+ acquisition and retention placements spanning Parks, Cruise Line, and Disney Store Payments, deeply integrated with the Disney Payments ecosystem, Chase applications, and Disney Visa Instant Credit, in a fast-paced environment, reporting to the Manager of Technology. This is a Project Hire role with a duration 2 years. Please note that this role is not open to sponsorship of any kind at this time. (i.e.: OPT, H1B, TN). Responsibilities Build and maintain APIs and services for internal and external-facing applicationsDevelop and support applications using cloud-enabled solutions (AWS)Write high-quality, maintainable code with test coverageSupport sustained delivery demand, including major product refreshes or launchesParticipate in peer code reviews and collaborate to uphold coding standardsImplement front-end features in coordination with backend systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutionsSupport and troubleshoot existing systems to maintain uptime, production releases, and issue resolution Required Skills Minimum 5 years of related work experience in software developmentFull stack engineer with strong cloud, API, and UI capabilitiesAngular (components, RxJS, state management)Node.js (Express/NestJS)Java 17+, microservices, Spring Boot, REST APIsAWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Aurora)Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)UI and API testing (JUnit, Postman)Strong debugging skills, production readiness, and partner integration experienceAI Skills:LLM/Generative AI experience (RAG, prompt design, guardrails)Agentic AI development (one or more: Amazon Q/Kiro, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude)Python scripting for automation and AI/ML integrationComfortable working in an Agile environmentProficient in modern development practices and tools, with a strong desire for continuous learning and skill developmentAbility to collaborate effectively in a team environmentCollaboration with Product, QA, and engineering partnersStrong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering practical solutionsAdaptability to fast-paced, dynamic work settings and changing prioritiesCommitment to writing clean, well-documented, and maintainable code Required Education Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent education and experience) The hiring range for this position in Orlando, Florida is $130,000-$160,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
