Description

About the Role Neurithum is seeking an AI Engineer to build and scale our multi-tenant SaaS platform for Australian long-term residential aged care facilities. You will design and deploy agentic AI features that assist clinical staff without replacing their judgment, focusing on architecture that ensures market longevity and reliability. Our system operates strictly within residential aged care, meaning you will tackle unique challenges like continuous monitoring and human-in-the-loop validation rather than acute hospital workflows. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain FastAPI-based backend services integrating LangChain, LangGraph, and OpenAI GPT-4o-mini to power clinical care plan recommendations.Build and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using PostgreSQL and pgvector to ground AI outputs in validated clinical guidelines.Implement Vision AI and NLP extraction tools to analyze wound images and structure free-text incident narratives.Design deterministic rule engines and safety guardrails to ensure AI outputs comply with the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS), an Australian federal framework that mandates reporting and managing serious incidents to the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.Create sophisticated data pipelines that merge charts, forms, and clinical notes into a unified timeline for accurate clinical deterioration detection. Technical Requirements Proven experience as an AI engineer or backend developer specializing in Python and FastAPI with minimum of 3+ years of experience.Hands-on expertise with LLM orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph) and building complex, stateful conversational agents.Strong proficiency in SQL, particularly with PostgreSQL and pgvector for semantic search and embedding management.Experience implementing production-level AI applications with strict guardrails, prompt engineering, and human-in-the-loop clinical approval workflows.\u200bFamiliarity with secure data handling practices and role-based access control (RBAC) in multi-tenant SaaS environments.
