Position summaryOMNIVERSE is seeking a founding-level full-stack engineer to help move our social casino platform from an ambitious early product into a secure, reliable, production-grade service.
You will work across our React application, Supabase-backed services, real-time systems, game integrations, wallet and transaction flows, internal administration tools, and deployment pipeline.
This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable making architectural decisions, shipping product, documenting tradeoffs, and improving an existing codebase without rebuilding everything from scratch.
What you will ownBuild and improve player-facing features in the existing React application.Develop secure server-authoritative services for games, wallets, promotions, payments, and account operations.Improve Supabase/Postgres schemas, row-level security, Edge Functions, migrations, observability, and performance.Strengthen real-time behavior, cross-device consistency, idempotency, auditability, and failure recovery.Integrate payment, identity, compliance, analytics, and communications providers.Review AI-assisted code and establish practical engineering standards for human and agent contributors.Write tests and documentation that make high-risk systems understandable and maintainable.Collaborate directly with the founders and product/game teams on priorities and release decisions.
Minimum qualificationsStrong professional experience with TypeScript and modern React.Backend experience with PostgreSQL and API or serverless service development.Experience designing or maintaining transactional systems where correctness and auditability matter.Ability to work independently in an early-stage environment and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly.Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, security fundamentals, and production debugging.
Preferred qualificationsExperience with Supabase, WebSockets, Netlify, payment processing, gaming systems, fintech, loyalty economies, or regulated consumer products.Experience with server-authoritative game logic, ledgers, wallet systems, fraud controls, or high-integrity random-number workflows.Experience collaborating with AI coding agents while retaining human review and change control.
Engagement and locationFull-time salaried employee or paid independent contractor.Remote anywhere in the United States or on-site in Portland, Oregon.Timing and final classification will be agreed before an offer.
Proposed compensationSalaried employee: $115,000–$155,000 annually.Independent contractor: $70–$110 per hour.Benefits: pending founder confirmation; contractor engagements do not include employee benefits.
