Senior Software Engineer - Backend / AI / ML

Senior Back end OR AI or ML Software Engineer (Developer) What is it for you? Contract - 12 months with 2 extension Contract Location - QLD, ACT, VIC, NSW Security clearance - Baseline Competitive Remuneration What we need from you: · Strong experience as a Software Developer / Software Engineer delivering production software solutions. · Strong hands-on experience with Python. · Proven experience building and maintaining solutions using AWS, particularly Serverless technologies. · Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, preferably AWS CDK. · Strong understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD, particularly AWS CodePipeline. · Experience working in Agile software development environments. · Ability to work autonomously in broad direction and take ownership of deliverables. · Strong communication and collaboration skills. · Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, including software developers, data scientists, ML engineers, business analysts and SMEs. · Experience delivering Proofs of Concept through to production capabilities. · Experience in a government agency environment is highly desirable. What you'll do: · Design, develop and maintain production software solutions using Python and AWS. · Develop and deliver AWS Serverless applications. · Build Proofs of Concept in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts and business stakeholders. · Take solutions from experimentation through to production and operational use. · Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code, preferably using AWS CDK. · Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. · Contribute to technical documentation and software development standards. · Maintain existing production systems and undertake continuous improvement. · Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary Agile team. · Contribute ideas and technical expertise around emerging technologies and responsible AI. · Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to support AI/ML initiatives. · Contribute to improving code quality, development practices and delivery processes.
