Role: Senior Full Stack Engineer (developer) Locations: ACT, NSW, VIC, QLD or SA Initial Contract: 12 months (with extension) Working Arrangement: Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week in the office Level: Senior / EL1 equivalent Citizenship: Australian Citizens only Security Clearance: Eligible or must be able to obtain NV1 Job description: Role/s: 1 x EL1 Full Stack Engineer The position will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in complex problem solving and issues management within the functions. The position will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to produce senior level advice and support. The EL1 Fullstack Engineer (Labour Hire) is required to collaborate with key business stakeholders and our local full-stack team to enhance and support the development of projects within the client project teams. The position is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the client to advance the client’s interests across a range of forums. Citizenship: As part of the eligibility and suitability requirement, client seeks Labour Hire Workers who are Australian citizens only. Successful candidates will be required to furnish valid evidence of citizenship during the Pre-engagement Check. Key duties and responsibilities Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: • Designing, building, deploying, and supporting the Agency’s systems, applications, and integrations. • Prioritise and managing the work queue to ensure timely delivery of key initiatives. • Ensuring that all solutions adhere to integration best practices and client architectural principles and are well documented. • Collaborating with business stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes. • Playing a key leadership role in project teams, utilising an agile development framework. • Engaging with stakeholders to define project requirements, set priorities, and deliver results. • Actively participate in code reviews – both as the reviewer and the reviewee to ensure coding quality and standards are maintained. • Ensuring that solutions are pragmatic, value for money, and deliver on their intended purpose. (NOTE: the key responsibilities of the role are based on current priorities and may change over time) Criteria: Candidate must provide a one-page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria: • 1. Extensive hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and services, with proven ability to design, implement, and manage scalable cloud solutions. Ability to work across all stages of the SDLC, including creating technical designs, developing and deploying code, performing code reviews, and the long-term maintenance of code. • 2. Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for automating infrastructure provisioning and management. • 3. Experience building complex APIs and other services in a variety of languages, such as Golang, TypeScript, and Python. Using technologies like REST and GraphQL. • 4. In-depth experience with containerization, cluster deployment, and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes - ensuring efficient application delivery and management. • 5. Expertise using DevOps practices, including creating CI/CD pipelines with GitHub/GitLab and tooling such as Artifactory, Jira and HashiCorp Vault. • 6. Ability to write automated testing including unit, component, integration and functional tests. Must be able to work closely with QA teams to facilitate integration and end-to-end testing of complex systems. Desirable criteria • 1. Experience writing accessible web applications using React and TypeScript, to meet accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1. • 2. Database deployment and administration (Postgres and MySQL). • 3. Experience in the effective use of AI tooling, using processes like spec-driven development. • 4. Demonstrated ability and willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rosters to support critical business operations.
