About the Role
We are looking for a Backend for Frontend (BFF) Developer to join our engineering team and help build middleware services that connect backend microservices with our frontend applications.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining BFF services that orchestrate APIs, transform and aggregate data, support authentication flows, and provide reliable interfaces tailored to frontend needs.
You will work closely with frontend, backend, UX, QA, and other cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Backend for Frontend (BFF) services that connect frontend applications with backend microservices.Build middleware services responsible for API orchestration, data aggregation, transformation, and routing.Translate frontend and business requirements into effective backend solutions and API contracts.Integrate and orchestrate multiple backend microservices to provide frontend-optimized APIs.Develop and maintain APIs using Node.js and/or Java Spring Boot.Work with REST and GraphQL APIs, ensuring reliable and efficient service communication.Implement and maintain authentication and authorization flows within BFF services.
Requirements
2+ years of experience in backend development, middleware development, or API-focused software engineering.Hands-on experience developing Backend for Frontend (BFF) services or similar middleware/API integration solutions.Strong experience with Node.js and/or Java Spring Boot.Solid understanding of microservices architecture and service-to-service communication.Experience with API orchestration, including aggregating and transforming data from multiple backend services.Strong knowledge of REST APIs and familiarity with GraphQL.Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms, such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, or similar technologies.Experience implementing or working with caching strategies for backend services.Experience troubleshooting API integrations and distributed application issues.Familiarity with JSON, HTTP protocols, status codes, and API design principles.
