Description
As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Golang, you will play a pivotal role in developing southbound connectors that enable Litmus Edge to communicate reliably with PLCs, industrial control systems, and IIoT devices.
You'll work at the intersection of modern software engineering and industrial automation, solving complex communication challenges across a wide range of protocols, devices, and manufacturing environments.
Your work will directly enable customers to securely connect their factory-floor systems to the Litmus platform.
You won't get bored in this role — you'll be exposed to a constantly evolving range of protocols, devices, and industrial environments across industries.
You'll work with an exceptional team using modern tools to push the boundaries of industrial communication, speed, and reliability.
What You'll Do:
Develop primarily Golang-based southbound connectors that communicate directly with PLCs and industrial control systems using protocols such as OPC-UA, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and DNP3.
Implement robust error handling and fault-tolerance mechanisms to ensure connectors are resilient to failures in OT environments and deliver a seamless user experience.
Troubleshoot and optimize connector performance, reliability, and communication across diverse industrial environments.
Design and implement comprehensive testing, diagnostics, logging, and monitoring to identify and resolve communication issues across diverse OT environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including Product Managers, OT/Controls Engineers, and other Software Engineers — to understand requirements and deliver high-quality integration solutions.
Contribute to the development of our open-source projects, sharing expertise with the wider developer community.
What We're Looking For:
Must Haves:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Hands-on experience developing software integrations, connectors, or drivers for PLCs and industrial control systems, with practical knowledge of industrial protocols such as OPC-UA, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, or PROFINET.
Strong proficiency in Golang.
5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
Deep understanding of networking concepts, real-time communication, and industrial automation environments.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers from both software and industrial automation backgrounds.
