Description
We are a well-funded start-up that has reinvented the way people are booking corporate travel for clients across North America.
It has disrupted the space by developing an AI powered recommendation engine that has radically improved corporate travel for individuals and corporations.
The travel industry is a $1.4 trillion dollar business and we are poised for tremendous growth as the proven leader for corporate travel and agents.
We currently have agreements with many corporate travel agencies and are already serving millions of travellers across North America.

Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining our microservices-based travel platform.
You will write production-quality code, contribute to architecture decisions, and help drive engineering best practices across the team.
You'll work across the full software lifecycle — from spec-driven design through implementation, testing, and deployment — in a modern cloud-native environment.
We are adopting a spec-driven development workflow where clear, written specifications guide implementation.
You should be comfortable working from specs, contributing to their refinement, and translating them into well-structured code — whether writing it yourself or using AI-assisted coding tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain microservices using C# and .NET Core / .NET 10 on a distributed, event-driven platformWrite correct, well-factored code that is testable, maintainable, and follows established patternsWork within a spec-driven development process: read, interpret, and implement from written technical specificationsParticipate in architecture discussions and contribute to decisions that improve performance, reliability, and developer velocityPerform code reviews and provide constructive, timely feedback to maintain code qualityBuild and consume REST APIs, message-based integrations (MassTransit/RabbitMQ), and real-time communication (SignalR)Work with multiple data stores — PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch — choosing the right tool for the jobCollaborate with front-end engineers working in Angular to deliver end-to-end featuresTroubleshoot production issues across distributed services, using logging (Serilog/ELK), tracing (AWS X-Ray), and metricsContribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and deployment to Kubernetes (EKS)Identify technical debt and propose practical improvementsMentor junior engineers through pairing, code review, and knowledge sharingOther duties as assigned
AI-Assisted Development
We use AI coding agents (GitHub Copilot, Claude) as part of our daily workflow to accelerate development.
We expect you to:
Be proficient with AI coding assistants — using them effectively to draft, refactor, and review codeUnderstand what the AI produces — you must be able to read, evaluate, and correct AI-generated code with confidenceWrite code independently without AI tools when needed — these are accelerators, not crutchesKnow the fundamentals deeply enough to catch when AI suggestions are wrong, insecure, or poorly structuredContribute to improving our spec-driven workflow where AI agents work from structured specifications
Required Skills and Qualifications:
5+ years of commercial experience in C# / .NET Core platform developmentStrong experience building and maintaining microservices architectures with ASP.NET Core Web APIsHands-on experience with at least two of: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ElasticsearchExperience with message-based communication (RabbitMQ, MassTransit, or similar)Solid understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and common design patternsExperience with Docker and container-based deployment workflowsExperience integrating third-party APIs (REST and/or SOAP)Familiarity with .NET dependency injection and ORMs (Entity Framework Core)Experience with AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar) and the ability to use them productivelyStrong fundamentals — able to design, debug, and ship quality code without AI assistanceComfortable working from written technical specifications and contributing to spec qualityGood communication skills — able to discuss technical trade-offs clearly with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with real-time communication (SignalR)Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm charts, and cloud-native deployment (AWS EKS)Experience with distributed caching (Redis, Aerospike)Exposure to the travel industry or GDS systems (Sabre, Travelport, Amadeus)Experience with Serilog, ELK stack, or Prometheus for observabilityExperience writing or working from detailed engineering specs in a spec-driven workflow
