About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join its Information Services team during a significant period of cloud modernization.
The organization is currently progressing through a large-scale migration to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), creating an opportunity for an experienced DevOps professional to help shape its future cloud and infrastructure environment.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone who brings strong technical depth while also serving as a trusted resource to the broader team.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable building and improving cloud infrastructure, automating processes, troubleshooting complex production issues, reviewing technical work, and mentoring other engineers.
What You’ll Do
Build, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure and DevOps processesSupport the organization’s ongoing migration and modernization within Google Cloud PlatformDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using TerraformBuild, manage, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines, including Azure DevOpsDevelop automation and scripting solutions using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologiesTroubleshoot complex production and infrastructure issues and perform root-cause analysisHelp improve monitoring, observability, reliability, and operational processesReview technical work and help establish engineering standards and best practicesMentor junior and mid-level engineers and promote knowledge sharing across the teamImprove technical documentation and reduce reliance on tribal knowledgePartner cross-functionally with Security, Infrastructure, Development, Product, and other technology teamsEvaluate existing processes and recommend practical opportunities for modernization and automationWork effectively within a regulated environment where security, controls, approvals, and thoughtful change management are important
What We’re Looking For
Strong hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a similar roleStrong experience with a major cloud platform such as GCP, AWS, or AzureHands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as CodeExperience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelinesStrong scripting and automation experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languagesExperience troubleshooting complex production environments and performing root-cause analysisUnderstanding of cloud networking, infrastructure, security, and operational best practicesAbility to work through unfamiliar systems and environments where documentation may be incompleteStrong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholdersExperience mentoring engineers, reviewing technical work, or serving as a senior technical resourceAbility to balance modernization with the processes and controls required within an established organization
