DevSecOps Engineer

DevSecOps Engineer On-site position in Los Angeles, CA Our client is an innovative technology organization developing advanced systems for demanding, mission-driven applications. As the company expands its engineering capabilities, it is looking for an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to take meaningful ownership of the secure delivery environment connecting software development with cloud infrastructure. This is an opportunity to shape how engineering teams build, validate, secure, package, and release software while working with modern AWS, GitLab, container, and Infrastructure as Code technologies. Focus: Administer and optimize GitLab across CI/CD pipelines, runners, permissions, project structures, and platform security capabilities.Build reliable delivery automation spanning software compilation, testing, security validation, packaging, and release.Develop reusable AWS infrastructure patterns that enable consistent, secure, and repeatable cloud provisioning.Strengthen container workflows through automated image creation, vulnerability assessment, registry management, and controlled distribution.Embed security throughout the development lifecycle using automated code, dependency, credential, artifact, and software supply chain controls.Support software delivery within isolated and highly controlled environments while maintaining reliability, traceability, and disciplined access management.Partner with engineering, infrastructure, networking, and security stakeholders to translate compliance needs into practical technical controls and audit-ready evidence.Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and security monitoring while helping engineering teams adopt effective DevSecOps practices. Skill Set: 5 or more years of professional experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Candidates with less than five years of relevant experience will not meet the requirements for this position.Significant hands-on GitLab administration experience, including CI/CD pipeline configuration, runner management, permissions, and security functionality.Hands-on AWS experience supporting cloud infrastructure and automated software delivery.Strong knowledge of container security, image management, registry workflows, and secure software delivery practices.Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Terraform, Helm, or comparable technologies.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.Must currently possess, or be willing and eligible to obtain, a U.S. Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance.Experience with Python, Go, or PowerShell automation, regulated technology environments, security compliance frameworks, or relevant cloud and cybersecurity certifications is preferred.
