What's the role?
The Pipeline Management team builds and operates the platform that powers large-scale batch and streaming data pipelines across HERE’s Data Platform.
Our platform enables engineering teams and customers to build, deploy, and operate data pipelines at scale while meeting demanding requirements for reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
As a Software Engineer II, you will have the opportunity to:
Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services supporting the Pipeline Management platform.
Contribute to pipeline orchestration, scheduling, execution, and state management services.
Build and enhance REST APIs and microservices supporting large-scale data processing workloads.
Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and platform teams to deliver reliable platform capabilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while continuously improving system reliability and performance.
Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and operational tooling.
Grow your expertise in distributed systems, cloud technologies, and software engineering best practices.

What You'll Bring
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience developing backend applications using Java.
Knowledge of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
Understanding of microservices architectures and distributed systems concepts.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) or a strong desire to learn cloud-native development.
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience using source control systems and development tools such as Git, GitLab, Jenkins, and JIRA.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Nice To Have
Experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, or Apache Flink.
Experience developing and operating cloud-native applications on Kubernetes.
Exposure to CI/CD practices and DevOps methodologies.
Experience building or supporting large-scale distributed systems.
Familiarity with Scala.
