DevOps Engineer About the Role NOS Digitale Media is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join its seven-person platform team in Hilversum. The team is responsible for the continuity, security, performance, and high availability of the platform behind NOS.nl and NOS apps, which serve millions of users every day. You will work across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, monitoring, CI/CD, and platform operations while collaborating closely with developers and hosting partners. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, learning quickly, improving platform reliability, and taking ownership through a “you build it, you run it” approach. Key Responsibilities Set up, manage, and secure cloud services across AWS, GCP, and European cloud providers.Monitor the hosting platform and support colleagues in using the Kubernetes-based platform.Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and Argo CD.Support developers from other teams in preparing software for release.Coordinate with hosting partners NPO and NEP to maintain platform continuity.Focus on platform performance, caching, and integration with external applications.Contribute ideas and technical input for new product features.Help improve platform availability during DDoS attacks.Support application security improvements.Use monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana to detect issues before they affect users.Analyze cache performance to improve website and app performance.Contribute to modernizing the platform architecture.Help improve developer experience and shorten release cycles.Participate in an on-call/availability service outside regular working hours together with the team.Required Qualifications Several years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer.Experience working with containers.Experience deploying applications to Kubernetes clusters.Experience with cloud providers.Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools.Knowledge of GitOps.Knowledge of CI/CD tooling.Operations-focused mindset and willingness to take ownership using a “you build it, you run it” approach.Professional-level proficiency in Dutch.Current residency in the Netherlands.Willingness to participate in on-call/availability services outside working hours.Ability to learn quickly and work in a solution-oriented manner.Preferred Qualifications The original job description does not identify additional qualifications as preferred.
