Responsibilities Grow Your Skills, Grow Your Potential Team CAVE within the Digital Claims Platform is hiring a Software Engineer to support and enhance customer-facing applications used during the claims process. In this role, you'll collaborate with product and business stakeholders to deliver product-led improvements, owning features end-to-end from frontend to backend and helping ensure reliable application performance in production. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing, fast-paced team supporting a variety of technologies on AWS Native and ROSA. The work focuses on delivering modern digital experiences that help customers navigate the claims journey with clarity and confidence. Some Responsibilities May Include: Applies skills, tools, security processes, applications, environments and programming language(s) to complete assignmentsApplies engineering practices to design and build applications using industry-adopted languages and frameworksDiagnoses and resolves problems/issues across the stackMaintains understanding of software engineering topics including components, services, routing, state management, version control, CI/CD, and unit testingMaintains understanding in programming (e.g. Java, TypeScript) and database functionality (e.g. SQL)Maintains understanding in compute environments including Linux, Public Cloud, and containersApplies understanding regarding technology trends/changes, best practices, and processes to complete assignments and influence the direction of product solutionsApplies understanding of product design, data design and movement, and testing to ensure quality outcomesLeverages understanding of the organizational structure to navigate cross-team collaborationMay take on several simultaneous work stories or focus on a single complex storyUnderstands, supports, and helps define the vision and direction for the product developmentChampions and helps design and develop for exceptional user experienceLeverages inner source best practices to encourage code discoverability and collaboration across the enterprise Qualifications We Are Seeking Candidates With: Full-stack engineer (frontend and back-end experience) AWS Native/ROSATypeScriptAngularJava Additional Skills Curiosity-driven — willing to dig into unfamiliar code, ask questions, and trace problems end-to-endCollaborative — works closely with cross-functional teams and senior engineers; communicates technical status clearlyOwnership mentality — takes responsibility for features from development through production supportDocumentation-oriented — contributes to team runbooks, decision records, and documented processesGrowth mindset — comfortable receiving code review feedback and iterating; eager to learn from senior engineers Our Benefits Because work-life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!
