As part of that journey, we are moving from legacy systems towards a modern data mesh architecture and are looking for an analytically minded Data Engineer to help us get there.
YOUR TEAM
You'll join our Ecommerce / Product Experience Team, a close-knit group of Data Engineers based at our offices in Aarhus, Denmark and Amsterdam, the Netherlands who care as much about business outcomes as they do about clean code.
We sit at the heart of BESTSELLER's data transformation, working across e-commerce, product development and operations to deliver data that people and the business can rely on.
As a team, we:
define best practices and onboard domains into our data mesh architecturepartner with business stakeholders to turn opportunities and challenges into reliable and scalable data productscollaborate across brands and business units to ensure data is discoverable, trustworthy and reusable
YOUR ROLE
This role combines engineering depth with business understanding.
You won't just build pipelines.
You'll understand why they matter, work closely with stakeholders to define what good data looks like for each domain and translate business needs into robust and maintainable solutions.
More specifically, you will:
build and deploy data pipelines, APIs and integration services in a cloud-native environmentimplement data products, including data contracts and observability practicesmodel and transform data to support analytical and operational use casesengage with stakeholders across business units to understand their data needs and translate them into practical solutionscontribute to improving data quality, performance and governance while exploring technologies that strengthen our data ecosystem

YOUR PROFILE
We're looking for someone who combines solid engineering skills with a genuine curiosity about the business side of data.
You ask why before you ask how, and you're comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to find the right solution.
You work in a structured way, keep track of priorities and dependencies and follow tasks through to completion.
We imagine that you:
have experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, building production-grade data systems and backend serviceshave strong analytical skills and can translate business requirements into scalable and well-designed data solutionshave hands-on experience with modern data technologies such as AWS, GCP or Azure, Kafka, Snowflake, dbt or Airflowhave solid skills in SQL, Python and data modellinghave experience with API development, such as REST or GraphQL, and integration technologies such as S3, SFTP or RESTare familiar with data mesh principles, data governance and domain-driven design
