Your Role
Role
We are looking for a hands-on software engineer to support the maintenance, improvement, and evolution of our existing codebase used for controlling R&D setups and laboratory instruments.
In this role, you will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring our systems remain robust, up to date, and aligned with internal quality standards.
You will also contribute to the upkeep of our internal database to support the broader engineering and research teams.
Your role in turning our pioneering therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) solution in a real-world application:
Maintain and upgrade existing software controlling R&D instruments, test setups, and automation workflowsImplement improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability of control systemsDesign, implement, and optimize algorithms used for data processing, instrument control, and automation logicCollaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new featuresContribute to the maintenance and evolution of our internal database, ensuring data integrity and accessibilityHelp define and implement software development processes aligned with regulatory requirements (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485)Write technical documentation, including update logs, architecture overviews, and configuration instructionsParticipate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality, ISO-compliant software
Job Requirements
Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field2+ years of professional experience in software engineering, preferably involving hardware control in R&D environmentsStrong experience with Python, ideally applied to hardware control, automation, instrumentation, or embedded‑adjacent systemsDemonstrated hands-on experience working directly with hardware, such as sensors, actuators, laboratory instruments, or automated test setupsFamiliarity with Git and collaborative development workflows like Jira, or willingness to learnWillingness to learn and work with databases (SQL), the Django framework, and containerization (Docker)Willingness to learn and apply medical device software standards (IEC 62304, ISO 13485)Experience generating and maintaining technical documentation that meets quality and regulatory standardsExcellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on mindsetStrong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, startup environmentTeam-oriented mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, multinational team
