Senior Software Engineer - AI & MedTech

Senior Software Engineer | Brisbane | Hybrid Medbill is looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to join our growing health-tech engineering team. This is an opportunity to help build and scale a modern healthcare SaaS platform, within a well established Services company, and to explore how AI can be genuinely applied within medical operations, not simply used as a developer productivity tool. You’ll work on real-world opportunities to use AI to automate complex workflows, that partners alongside humans to assist operational decision-making, and fundamentally rethink processes that have traditionally relied on significant manual effort. What you’ll do • Design and deliver significant features end-to-end • Build secure, scalable software using TypeScript and Node.js • Help shape our AWS architecture and technical direction • Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to real healthcare workflows • Work directly with operational users to rapidly test and refine new approaches • Mentor other engineers and help lift engineering capability • Use modern AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI What we’re looking for • 6+ years’ commercial software engineering experience • Strong TypeScript, Node.js and AWS experience • Experience owning technical decisions and delivering complex software • Genuine interest in applying AI to difficult, real-world problems • Strong communication and mentoring skills React, PostgreSQL, AWS CDK and healthcare experience are highly regarded.
