Role Description The Intermediate DevOps Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure to support software delivery and operations. This role includes building and managing CI pipelines, configuring deployment automation, and optimizing environments for performance and cost efficiency. The Intermediate DevOps Engineer collaborates closely with development, QA, and operations teams to improve release processes, enhance observability, and resolve environment-related issues. Day-to-day tasks involve managing cloud and Linux-based systems, applying Infrastructure as Code practices, monitoring system health, and troubleshooting production incidents. The role also includes contributing to documentation, following best practices for security and compliance, and continuously refining tooling and workflows. Qualifications candidates must have 1 to 5 years of experience Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar solutions.Experience in Software Development or scripting (e.g., Python, Go, Java, Bash) to automate deployment and operational tasks.Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and delivery pipelines using platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.Solid System Administration background, including managing servers, networking basics, and performance monitoring.Proficiency with Linux-based environments, including shell usage, package management, and system troubleshooting.Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Knowledge of security best practices, configuration management, and infrastructure monitoring/logging tools.Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and document solutions effectively.Relevant post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Previous experience in a DevOps or site reliability engineering role at the intermediate level is an asset Apply through: s.ravuri@hireit.ca
