Their technology function has invested heavily in automation and Infrastructure as Code, and they are bringing in experienced contract talent to support a period of sustained growth. It is a collaborative environment where engineers are trusted to shape how software gets built, tested and shipped, not just keep the lights on. The Role This is a hands on DevOps contract covering both GCP and AWS environments. You will sit at the intersection of development and operations, building the CI/CD pipelines, Terraform modules and Ansible playbooks that get code from commit to production quickly and safely. There is real autonomy here: you will be trusted to shape delivery practices and tooling rather than simply follow a backlog. It suits someone who thinks in pipelines, feedback loops and automation first, and who is just as comfortable debugging a failed deployment as designing the network it runs on. Key Responsibilities Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that take code from commit to production across GCP and AWSBuild Terraform modules and Ansible playbooks to automate infrastructure provisioning and configurationChampion GitOps practices and containerisation, working with Docker and Kubernetes across environmentsArchitect scalable, highly available cloud solutions that meet business and security requirementsCollaborate with development teams to embed automation and reliability into the software delivery lifecycleImplement monitoring and observability to give engineering teams fast feedback on system healthDrive cost optimisation and governance across cloud resourcesImplement security controls, compliance frameworks and disaster recovery solutionsLead incident response and troubleshooting, feeding learnings back into automation and toolingMaintain clear documentation for pipelines, infrastructure designs and runbooks What You'll Need Essential: 3+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure engineering or a similar roleStrong hands on expertise with GCP (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions) and AWS (EC2, EKS, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda)Advanced Terraform experience for Infrastructure as Code development and managementExtensive Ansible experience for configuration management and automationStrong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelinesProficiency in Bash and Python for scripting and automationSolid experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environmentsStrong Linux/Unix administration and networking fundamentalsSolid knowledge of cloud security best practice and compliance frameworks Desirable / Nice to Have: GCP Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer, or AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer Professional certificationExperience with GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, Flux) and service mesh technologies (Istio, Anthos Service Mesh)Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Cloud Operations Suite) Why Apply?
