About the Role
As a Lead Backend Software Engineer on the Azure NetApp Files team, you’ll design, develop, and own production-grade REST APIs and backend microservices for cloud-scale distributed systems.
You’ll work across the complete software development lifecycle, building containerized services, managing resource lifecycle workflows, improving reliability and performance, and collaborating with architects, product teams, and engineers.
Qualifications
8+ years of software engineering experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred
Hands-on development experience with Go, C++, or C#
Experience developing production REST APIs and service integrations
Strong experience building microservices end-to-end
Experience with Docker and containerized application development
Hands-on development experience with Kubernetes-based services
Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar databases
Strong understanding of automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure development
Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP preferred
Experience with distributed systems, cloud storage, or data management platforms preferred
Experience leading engineering projects or owning major service components preferred
