Description
Job Title: Software Architect
Location: Munich, Germany
Job Type: Full-time contract, Until 30/12/2026
Work Model: Hybrid
Summary:
• Looking for an experienced professional who combines hands-on software engineering skills with strong software architecture expertise to support the development of a scalable, secure, and maintainable codebase for a scheduling optimization platform.
The role focuses on software architecture and implementation design, complemented by selective hands-on development of software PoCs and core components.
Focus Tasks:
• Coordinate, plan, and propose software architecture decisions for new and existing applications, including architecture concepts, decision documentation, and technical guardrails
• Design and develop scalable, secure, and maintainable software architectures, including application components, APIs, data pipelines, interfaces, interactions with scalable backend systems, and future AI services
• Actively contribute to software development activities, including the implementation of architecture PoCs, core modules, refactoring initiatives, reusable development blue
Required qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience in software development and software architecture for scalable, distributed applications and data-/AIdriven Python-based software products
• Proven expertise in designing modular software architectures, backend services, APIs, integration interfaces, and data processing components
• Ability to translate functional and non-functional requirements into practical software architecture concepts and maintainable implementation designs
• Strong hands-on development background with the ability to guide engineering teams through technical design decisions, code-level considerations, and implementation trade-offs
• Prior experience designing and developing platform-based applications, ideally for mathematical optimization or scheduling related problems
• Proven experience with code reviews, code quality practices, refactoring, and maintainable software design
• Experience with cloud-native software development, preferably on Microsoft Azure, and lakehouse services/tools such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or similar
Documentation of Results:
• Consolidated summary of input materials and refined functional and non-functional requirements
• Detailed software architecture documentation, including application components, APIs, data flows, interfaces, and key software design decisions
• Implementation-oriented architecture views, such as application, data processing, integration, and deployment-relevant views
• Documentation of software architectural decisions using ADRs and translation into implementable epics, user stories, and technical tasks
