A technology company is seeking a Frontend Product Engineer to build performant, responsive interfaces for complex operational systems. You will combine frontend engineering with UX/UI design, create reusable component systems, integrate APIs, design interaction models for complex system states, and iterate through rapid usability feedback.
Highlights
Product-focused frontend role combining engineering and UX/UI design, with ownership of responsive interfaces, reusable component systems, complex interactions, usability validation, and close collaboration with core engineering.
Description
What you'll do when you get here:
Front-End Development
Build and maintain responsive, performant interfaces for SENTIENT OS and AERIS: consoles, dashboards, configuration and control UIsImplement components, layout systems, and interaction patterns in a modern framework (React/Next.js or equivalent)Integrate front-end with back-end APIs and data sources alongside the core engineering teamKeep the codebase modular and reusable through a component library, clear state management, and clean architecture
UX/UI Design and Interaction
Turn product concepts and operator workflows into interfaces people can use under pressureProduce user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups Design interaction models for complex system state: alerts, timelines, mission views, sensor and device status, configuration flowsRun lightweight usability validation through internal demos and fast feedback cycles, then iterate on real usage
Brand, Visual Language, and Design System
Define, maintain, and evolve Sentient's visual guidelines: typography, color, spacing, iconography, and motionBuild and maintain one shared design system and component library used across the web site, internal OS, software products, internal tools, and print collateralHold visual consistency across digital and physical surfaces, refining the guidelines as the product family growsCreate and manage graphic assets, icons, diagrams, visual metaphors, data visualizations, that hold up on screen and in print
Digital + Print Collateral
Own templates for spec sheets, product one-pagers, pamphlets, business cards, banners, and event leave-behindsProduce print-ready files with correct bleed, margins, resolution, and color space, and coordinate with print vendors on proofsTurn engineering data, specifications, performance curves, interface drawings, into clear, accurate customer-facing sheetsKeep a versioned library of current collateral so business development always pulls the approved file
Website and Marketing Surface
Own the front-end of the marketing website: layout, navigation, responsiveness, and performanceShip new pages and sections for product launches, use cases, and documentationWork with leadership on content structure and information hierarchy so the product narrative reads clearlyHold the website to the same design system and brand standards as the products
Collaboration and Process
Work directly with the founder/CTO and core engineering team so UI decisions match product architecture and real system capabilityTranslate technical constraints and system behavior into visual affordances and useful user feedbackEstablish lightweight process, design reviews, component documentation, PR guidelines, that keeps the front-end clean as the team scalesAdvocate for the user in a highly technical, mission-driven environment
