Job Title: Senior Azure DevOps Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Compensation: $140,000 to $170,000, plus bonus eligibility and benefits
Job Description:
This is a hands-on position for an engineer with strong Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, and continuous-delivery experience.
The selected professional will work with application development, architecture, security, and infrastructure teams to improve the reliability, scalability, and security of enterprise cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain automated software-delivery pipelines for cloud-based applications.Design, support, and improve Kubernetes environments hosted in Microsoft Azure.Develop reusable infrastructure-as-code templates using Terraform, Bicep, or comparable tools.Automate application build, testing, release, and deployment processes.Support source-control standards, branching practices, code-review processes, and repository policies.Partner with development, architecture, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams.Implement platform monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance-management capabilities.Apply cloud security practices related to identity, access controls, credentials, secrets, and application delivery.Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.Develop reusable platform components, operating standards, and technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.Several years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, or platform engineering.Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.Experience supporting Kubernetes-based workloads, preferably within Azure.Experience developing CI/CD pipelines using modern enterprise tools.Proficiency with Terraform, Bicep, or another infrastructure-as-code technology.Experience with containerized application environments.Strong Python scripting or programming experience.Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.Understanding of cloud networking, identity, access management, and security.Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and application-security controls.Experience supporting secure, scalable enterprise-platform environments.Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications.
