## About the Role
DataSnipper is looking for a Mid-level Backend Engineer to join its Identity & Access Management (IAM) team in Amsterdam.
You will work on foundational platform services responsible for authentication, authorization, and access management across the product.
Your work will directly support backend teams throughout the organization by helping build secure, reliable, scalable, and high-performance platform services.
You will collaborate across teams, contribute to system improvements, and participate in an on-call rotation as a second-line support resource after technical support.
## Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain core IAM services covering authentication, authorization, and access management.
* Develop secure, scalable, and reliable backend systems.
* Design and maintain backend APIs and integrations.
* Collaborate with backend teams to ensure seamless platform integrations.
* Improve system reliability, performance, and scalability.
* Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and engineering practices.
* Apply effective testing methodologies throughout the development lifecycle.
* Work independently on defined engineering tasks and communicate blockers clearly.
* Participate in an on-call rotation as a second-line support resource.
* Contribute to a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and bias toward action.
* Use AI-assisted development tools where appropriate to improve engineering productivity.
## Required Qualifications
* 3–6 years of backend development experience.
* Professional experience with an object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript.
* Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
* Strong understanding of API development.
* Experience building scalable backend systems.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
* Strong understanding of software testing and different testing methodologies.
* Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
* Ability to work independently on defined tasks.
* Strong sense of ownership and a bias toward action.
* Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
## Preferred Qualifications
