The Purpose
As a Cloud Engineer at AP+, you'll help run and continuously improve the cloud and infrastructure services behind Australia's digital payments platforms.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on provisioning, configuring, operating and optimising secure, reliable infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments.
You'll work across day-to-day operations, automation, performance, security and change to help keep critical services resilient and ready for what comes next.
Key Responsibilities The Role Owns
Provision, deploy and configure cloud and infrastructure services in line with architecture standards, security requirements and operational procedures.Monitor infrastructure performance, availability and security events, troubleshoot operational issues and help maintain reliable, high-performing services.Own core operational activities including system maintenance, patching, backups, restorations, installation, testing and decommissioning of infrastructure components.Automate routine system administration and infrastructure activities using scripting and standard tooling to improve efficiency, consistency and reliability.Support controlled infrastructure change, configuration management and storage activities, ensuring changes are assessed, documented and implemented safely.Work closely with engineers, service management teams and stakeholders to improve operational procedures, infrastructure standards and service outcomes.
You’ll likely be a strong fit for this role if you have:
Hands-on experience supporting and operating cloud and/or hybrid infrastructure within an enterprise environment.Deep understanding of cloud platforms and services, including IaaS/PaaS, alongside virtualisation, storage and infrastructure automation tooling.Practical experience monitoring infrastructure, diagnosing operational issues and supporting system installation, maintenance and change activities.Ability to automate repeatable administration tasks using scripting and standard tools, with a mindset focused on reliability and continuous improvement.An understanding of configuration management, change control and security practices, ideally within a regulated, critical or high-availability technology environment.A collaborative, disciplined approach to engineering and documentation, and can work effectively across technical and service teams to deliver dependable infrastructure outcomes.
