About the Opportunity
My client, a leading global investment manager, are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to drive the design, scaling, and operational excellence of their cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
In this role, you will work closely with internal software engineering and trading teams to architect high-availability AWS platforms, manage production Kubernetes (EKS) environments, and expand enterprise Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Scaling: Lead the design and support of core AWS services, including networking, storage, load balancing, serverless, and monitoring/logging.Kubernetes Orchestration: Deploy, scale, and maintain production EKS clusters as workloads expand.Infrastructure Automation: Drive the evolution of our client’s IaC codebase using Terraform and Ansible.Production Ownership: Serve as a senior escalation point for triaging and resolving complex incidents in high-stakes environments.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, trading desks, and business leaders to turn custom requirements into robust infrastructure solutions.Quality & Engineering Standards: Promote engineering best practices while delivering pragmatic, high-impact business solutions.
What They are Looking For
Essential:
Extensive background in senior-level AWS cloud engineering and architecture.Deep hands-on expertise with Kubernetes (EKS), containerization, and service mesh concepts.Strong foundation in Linux administration (RHEL/Debian) and network troubleshooting.Proven track record delivering end-to-end projects using Terraform and Ansible.Exceptional incident-response skills under high pressure.Strong ownership mindset with top-tier written and verbal communication.Desirable:
