Role Overview
We are seeking an AWS Senior Platform Engineer to join our growing Cloud Engineering & Platforms practice.
This is a hands-on role focused on designing, building and automating secure, scalable AWS cloud platforms, while contributing to engineering standards, reusable components and delivery best practices.
Working closely with Architects, Engineers and Consultants, you will deliver high-quality solutions throughout the project lifecycle, from discovery and design through to implementation and operational handover.
The successful candidate will have experience delivering AWS platform solutions across multiple environments and a strong understanding of automation, security, observability and cloud engineering best practice.

Responsibilities
Design, build and support secure AWS cloud platforms across client environments, including landing zones, multi-account structures, AWS Organizations, Control Tower, networking, guardrails and reusable infrastructure modules, while troubleshooting complex platform, DevOps and deployment issues.Embed security and DevSecOps best practices through secure-by-design principles, covering identity, networking, encryption, secrets management, zero-trust architectures, policy-as-code and automated security controls aligned to organisational and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with clients, architects and consultants to understand requirements, shape solutions and deliver robust AWS platform capabilities, producing clear technical documentation and supporting delivery from discovery through to operational handover.Lead AWS platform implementation activities, coordinating technical dependencies, guiding engineering decisions, promoting best practices across automation, security and observability, and supporting the development of early-career colleagues through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
About You
Strong hands-on AWS platform engineering experience, with a proven track record delivering solutions across multiple projects or client environments.
Broad knowledge of cloud architecture, networking, security, automation, observability and operational readiness, including AWS Landing Zones, Control Tower, AWS Organizations and security controls.Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code, automation and DevOps tooling, including Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, CI/CD pipelines, and delivery tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub and GitLab.Good understanding of Secure by Design principles, covering identity and access management, networking, encryption, secrets management, logging, monitoring and governance across cloud environments.Strong client-facing communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, balance technical and commercial considerations, and clearly articulate technical decisions, trade-offs and risks.Knowledge and Experience of the Following Would Be Advantageous
AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, with exposure to Azure or GCP environments.Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures, including integration between AWS, on-premises infrastructure and other cloud platforms.Experience with scripting and automation technologies such as Python, TypeScript, shell scripting, AWS SDKs and command-line tooling.
