Senior .NET Developer – C# / Azure / Microservices Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite Contract: Long-term contract Engagement: ZZP or Payroll Language: English Experience: 8–10 years About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior .NET Developer to join a long-term technology project in Amsterdam. You will be working within a modern Microsoft technology environment, with a strong focus on developing APIs, microservices and scalable applications using C# and .NET. The role is predominantly backend focused, although experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Vue.js or Angular is highly valuable. You will work as part of an Agile engineering team and contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle, from design and development through testing, deployment and continuous improvement. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, enjoys solving technical problems and has a strong understanding of modern software engineering practices. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop and maintain applications using C# and Microsoft .NET technologies • Build scalable and maintainable APIs and microservices • Develop clean, reusable and high-quality production code • Contribute to the design and development of modern software solutions • Work with Azure DevOps to support development, build and deployment processes • Use Git for source control, branching and collaborative development • Contribute to front-end development using technologies such as Vue.js and/or Angular • Develop intuitive and user-friendly application functionality • Work closely with developers, testers, product teams and other technical stakeholders • Participate in technical discussions, solution design and code reviews • Contribute to automated testing and overall software quality • Apply modern testing principles, with exposure to Test-Driven Development (TDD) being beneficial • Troubleshoot technical issues and identify appropriate solutions • Support continuous integration and delivery practices • Follow development standards and software engineering best practices • Participate actively within an Agile development environment • Continuously improve application performance, maintainability and reliability Essential Skills & Experience • 8–10 years of software development experience • Strong commercial development experience with C# • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft .NET platform / Core .NET technologies • Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs • Experience building and maintaining microservices-based applications • Good experience with Microsoft Azure • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps • Strong experience using Git • Experience working within Agile software development teams • Understanding of modern software architecture and development principles • Experience writing clean, maintainable and testable code • Good understanding of software testing and quality assurance practices • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Comfortable working within an international, English-speaking environment Front-End Experience While the main focus of the role is .NET/backend development, candidates should have some experience working with modern front-end technologies.
