Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer - Python/Golang - Kubernetes based in Netherlands.
As a Software Engineer on a Kubernetes-focused product team, you will build and enhance open-source solutions that make Kubernetes easier to operate and integrate into production environments.
You will develop operators that provide lifecycle management for mission-critical components and addons that deliver streamlined, low-operations experiences for Kubernetes users.
Working primarily with Python and/or Golang, you will contribute to high-quality software used by a global technical community.
You will stay close to the latest Kubernetes capabilities and open-source innovations, identifying opportunities to bring valuable functionality to end users.
The role involves close collaboration with talented engineers, industry peers, and technology partners in a highly distributed environment.

Accountabilities
Design and develop high-quality software features for Kubernetes-focused products and open-source solutions.Build and maintain Kubernetes operators that provide complete lifecycle management for mission-critical components.Develop and improve Kubernetes addons that enable seamless integration of projects and services with minimal operational overhead.Write clean, maintainable, reliable, and well-tested code using Python and/or Golang.Investigate, debug, and resolve technical issues while engaging constructively with the wider open-source community.Stay current with new Kubernetes features, ecosystem developments, and relevant open-source projects, incorporating valuable capabilities into product solutions.Collaborate proactively with engineers across a globally distributed team and contribute to technical discussions and design decisions.Work with industry peers, technology partners, and external contributors to identify and implement effective solutions for users.Contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, documentation, and continuous improvement.Participate in global team collaboration and travel internationally for internal and external events, typically for 2–4 weeks per year.
Requirements
Professional software development experience with Golang or Python; experience with both is highly desirable.Practical experience with Kubernetes is preferred, although it is not strictly required.Strong understanding of software engineering principles, with an emphasis on writing high-quality and maintainable code.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, STEM, or a related technical discipline.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across a distributed international team.Genuine enthusiasm for technology, open-source software, Linux, cloud-native platforms, and solving complex engineering problems.Ability to work independently while proactively collaborating with colleagues and contributing to a globally distributed engineering environment.Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with a willingness to investigate issues and learn continuously.Results-oriented mindset and commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality solutions.Curiosity and adaptability when working with new technologies, tools, and open-source projects.Willingness and ability to travel internationally for company and external events, approximately 2–4 weeks per year.
