We are currently seeking an experienced and collaborative Software Engineer to join our Product Engineering team. In this role, you will focus on building high-throughput backend services and always-on systems that prioritize reliability, security, and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Product Management, Engineering, and Site Reliability to design, develop, and maintain resilient applications while continuously improving system scalability, observability, and operational excellence. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable Java backend services. Develop high-throughput, distributed, and event-driven systems for large-scale data processing. Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and SRE teams to deliver reliable solutions. Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot services running in Docker and Kubernetes environments. Build observability using metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerts. Participate in production support, incident response, and on-call activities. Design scalable architectures and optimize application, database, and messaging performance. Review code, reduce technical debt, and promote engineering best practices. Contribute to CI/CD automation and modern DevOps practices. Research and evaluate emerging technologies to improve enterprise systems. Technology Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in software development. Strong expertise in Java and object-oriented programming, design patterns, concurrency, and JVM fundamentals. Strong experience with Spring Boot / Spring Framework and RESTful API development. Experience building microservices and distributed systems. Experience working with messaging and queuing systems such as Kafka, AMQ, or similar platforms. Experience with high-volume data processing, event-driven architectures, and streaming/batch processing. Experience with relational databases, including query and index optimization. Familiarity with observability practices, including metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerting. Experience deploying and managing applications in Docker and Kubernetes environments. Familiarity with Linux-based systems. Strong understanding of modern software development practices, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and DevOps principles. Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry. Ability to read, understand, review, and improve code. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Bonus Expertise Proficiency in .NET or similar backend technologies. Experience with Kafka Streams, Apache Flink, Spark, or similar data-processing technologies. Experience with Redis, MongoDB, or other NoSQL/distributed data stores. Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or private cloud environments. Experience with Terraform, Helm, or Infrastructure as Code. Experience with JVM/performance tuning and distributed-system resiliency patterns. Experience in compliance, data governance, or regulated environments.
