Software Development Engineer - IAM Security

Description The Identity and Access Management group is responsible for the protection of customer and corporate data. We are seeking a Software Development Engineer with a great passion for data, and an insatiable desire to be curious and invent. A commitment to team work and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high performance products requires exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems. This position will require working cross-functionally across multiple teams and technologies. Key job responsibilities Design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems that process security-relevant data with high availability and low latency. Own services end to end: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence, including participation in the team's on-call rotation. Build libraries, integrations, and tooling that make it simple for engineering teams across Amazon to adopt the platform. Work with very large datasets: design efficient data models, processing pipelines, and query patterns that keep the platform fast and cost-effective at scale. Partner cross-functionally with security, compliance, and service-owning teams to translate their requirements into platform capabilities. Contribute to technical direction: write design documents, lead reviews, and influence decisions across the team and partner teams. Mentor other engineers and raise the bar on code quality, security, and operational practices. Basic Qualifications Experience (non-internship) in professional software development Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
