We are headquartered in Sydney, Australia with offices in London, Washington DC and Tokyo. About The Role We are looking for a Fullstack Engineer with a strong backend focus to join our team. This role prioritises backend expertise with the ability to contribute to frontend tasks, ensuring seamless client-server integration. As a Fullstack Engineer, you’ll be joining our team in Sydney and working closely with our Research & Development and product development functions. You’ll be applying your knowledge to build modern, responsive user interfaces and visualisations that can enhance HEO Inspect, HEO’s proprietary NEI data and insights platform. With years of experience in this domain, the HEO team will help you expand your knowledge and skills to flourish in this exciting role. ‍ Your Key Responsibilities Include Design and development of new features on HEO's NEI data and insights web platform, HEO Inspect, with a focus on performance, user experience and interactivity.Maintenance and development of cloud-based back-end services which focus on automating our operations in Space.Work closely with HEO’s R&D team to productionise new algorithms that enhance our operations.Work closely with HEO’s product, go-to-market and analyst personnel to ensure customer requirements are met through our web application, API, and bespoke system integrations. ‍ We Are Looking For Someone With A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar field4+ years of industry experience in developing web applications on the cloudStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical & critical thinking skills and comfortable with experimenting to solve new challengesExtensive knowledge in:Python and/or any Object Oriented Programming LanguageWeb Development (RestFul APIs, Django)Experience in building end-to-end applications. End-to-end systems development (Including persistent storage) and deployment (CI/CD)Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision. ‍ Nice To Have Frontend Technologies (Typescript and React)Background knowledge of orbital dynamics, robotics and image processing is considered a plusAWS Services and Products or any cloud service experienceAI tooling and knowledgeExperience with monitoring and analytics for application performance/metrics ‍ HEO’s Company Values We value good space citizenship.
