Role - RQ11566 - DevOPS/Cloud Engineer - Senior Duration - Contract for 373 Days with 1 time extension Location:- 5700 Yonge StreetToronto, ON (Onsite) Ministry :- Health Services Cluster - Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement Job Description We are looking for a Senior AWS Cloud / DevOps Engineer with strong experience designing, building, managing, and supporting secure, scalable, highly available AWS cloud environments. The candidate will support large and complex Public Health applications and provide expertise in cloud infrastructure, Linux administration, containers, DevOps automation, security, monitoring, and production support. Key Responsibilities Design, build, deploy, and support AWS cloud environments and cloud-native applications.Ensure availability, performance, security, scalability, and reliability of AWS production systems.Administer and troubleshoot Linux/Red Hat environments, including installation, hardening, tuning, and automation scripting.Monitor production applications and infrastructure, analyze logs, troubleshoot issues, and proactively recommend improvements.Support microservices and distributed applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless technologies.Implement cloud security controls for identity, networking, encryption, and unauthorized access prevention.Develop automation for deployment, operational processes, monitoring, and system management.Create and maintain system design documents, technical specifications, integration plans, and architecture documentation. Required Technical Skills 10+ years of IT experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and production systems.Strong experience managing AWS services including VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, Aurora, Redshift, Elastic Load Balancing, Auto Scaling, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, ActiveMQ, and AWS security/networking services.Knowledge of AWS Connect, Pinpoint, DynamoDB, Kinesis Data Streams, and Polly.5+ years of Unix/Linux experience, including Red Hat or Solaris, installation, troubleshooting, hardening, and scripting.3+ years of experience with Kubernetes and Docker.Strong knowledge of microservices, distributed architecture, containers, and cloud-native applications.Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Git, Maven, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.Experience with scripting/programming using Python, Bash, Java, JavaScript, Node.js, or similar languages.Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, metrics, alerting, performance tuning, and production troubleshooting.Experience with API integration and enterprise application integration.Knowledge of Salesforce and MuleSoft integration is an asset. Public Sector Experience 5+ years of experience working with federal, provincial, or broader public-sector healthcare organizations.Experience working on Public Sector Health-related and large complex IT projects.Knowledge of Public Sector Enterprise Architecture, project methodologies, approval processes, gating processes, and technical documentation standards.Knowledge of PMI and Public Sector I&IT project management methodologies.
