Our Opportunity As a DevOps Staff Engineer, you will play a critical leadership role in driving the evolution of our DevOps practices. Performing hands-on technical execution, as well as providing strategic leadership, you will be responsible for guiding and growing the DevOps function across the organization. You will manage day-to-day DevOps activities, ensure release quality and velocity, and support the team in building robust, scalable, and secure CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure. Your technical expertise, problem-solving mindset, and passion for automation will be vital in improving the efficiency and reliability of our software delivery lifecycle. Who You’ll Report To This role will report to our Sr. Director, Engineering Location: Hybrid role with regular onsite workdays in our San Jose, CA office required. Other U.S locations may be considered You Will Make An Impact By Being Responsible For Leading and mentoring the DevOps team, setting clear goals, offering constructive feedback, and fostering a culture of continuous improvementOverseeing daily DevOps operations including build/release management, CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and infrastructure reliabilityDriving technical decisions and provide guidance on tooling, automation strategies, and architecture.Collaborating with engineering, QA, and product teams to prioritize work, align objectives, and ensure seamless deploymentIdentifying opportunities for automation and implement solutions to reduce manual work and improve delivery speedEnsuring system scalability, performance, and security are considered in all DevOps solutions.Monitoring and improve infrastructure reliability, alerting, and observabilityAdvocating for best practices in DevOps and promote a high-energy, accountable, and collaborative team culture You Will Be a Great Fit If You Have 7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure EngineeringProven expertise in:CI/CD tools, particularly JenkinsScripting (e.g., bash, groovy and Python)Strong experience with Terraform infrastructure-as-code and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), and Kubernetes-based deploymentsProficiency in containerization tools (e.g., Docker)Experience working with relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, Cockroach DB) and managing database CI/CD and configuration taskFamiliarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Kloudfuse, Sumo Logic, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK stackDeep understanding of deployment pipelines, infrastructure automation, and system security best practicesStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business needsPassionate, self-motivated, and enthusiastic about DevOps practices and modern infrastructure.Strong experience with artifact repository tools (i.e Nexus, JFrog)Prior experience in a fast-paced product or platform engineering environment preferredExposure to security, compliance, and audit requirements in CI/CD and infrastructure preferredCloud or Kubernetes-related certifications (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer, CKA) preferredExperience integrating DevOps practices into SDLC and cross-functional workflows preferred You Excel In These Key Competencies Ability to lead, coach, and develop engineers, provide constructive feedback, set clear priorities, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementAbility to evaluate complex technical challenges, make sound architectural and operational decisions, balance short-term needs with long-term scalability, and drive DevOps strategy across the organizationStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and effectively partner with Engineering, QA, Product, Security, and Infrastructure teamProven ability to proactively identify issues, troubleshoot complex systems, drive root-cause analysis, and take ownership of delivering reliable, scalable, and secure solutionPassion for learning, embracing change, driving automation, optimizing processes, and continuously improving software delivery, operational efficiency, and team performance The base salary range for this position is $190,000 – $210,000 a year. The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
