EQUILLY aims to streamline compliance workflows, reduce administrative burdens, and improve consistency in decision-making. Team members have the opportunity to contribute to technology that directly supports safer and more equitable educational environments. Role Description This Software Engineer internship is a hybrid role based in New Orleans, LA, with flexibility for some work from home. Interns will collaborate with the engineering team to design, develop, and test back-end features for EQUILLY’s AI-guided compliance platform, including services that support upcoming Title IX functionality. Day-to-day tasks may include writing clean, maintainable code, implementing APIs, integrating data sources, and assisting in code reviews and debugging. The role also involves working with mentors to refine system architecture, improve performance, and ensure reliable, secure software. Interns will participate in regular team meetings, contribute to documentation, and help translate product requirements into technical solutions. Qualifications Foundational knowledge in Computer Science and Software Development, with the ability to apply core concepts to real-world projects.Skills in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), including familiarity with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar).Experience or coursework in Back-End Web Development, such as building APIs, working with databases, or developing server-side applications.Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced startup environment.Comfort working in a hybrid setting, with effective communication and collaboration skills for both in-person and remote work.Interest in education, compliance, or AI-driven solutions is beneficial; prior exposure to data structures, algorithms, and version control (e.g., Git) is a plus.
