Senior Java Developer

Job Role : Java Developer Location : Mississauga, Canada Role Type: Full-Time Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Java and modern backend technologies, a strong understanding of system architecture and design principles, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Java applications and services. • Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decision-making. • Develop and optimize RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend systems. • Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, and security. • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to industry best practices. • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing. • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, QA Engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in both development and production environments. • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to ongoing process improvements. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. • 7+ years of professional software development experience. • Strong proficiency in Java (Java 17 or later). • Hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot. • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles. • Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services. • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL. • Experience with Git version control and modern CI/CD pipelines. • Experience working within Agile development environments. • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience designing and implementing microservices-based architectures. • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes. • Knowledge of messaging and streaming platforms such as Kafka and RabbitMQ. • Familiarity with NoSQL databases, including MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Cassandra. • Understanding of application security best practices, including OAuth 2.0 and JWT authentication. • Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical enterprise systems.
