Respond with Compassionate Action We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Information Technology team in Boone, NC. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the role of Senior DevOps Engineer, you will have the opportunity to: Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.Design, implement, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to enable the secure, scalable, and reliable delivery of ministry-critical applications and workloads.Lead DevOps engineering practices across development and production environments, including release management, application and infrastructure observability, capacity optimization, and the adoption of emerging technologies and AI-assisted engineering tools.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to DevOps Engineers, promoting engineering excellence, skill development, consistent technical practices, and a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.Lead troubleshooting, incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation for deployment, pipeline, application, and infrastructure issues to improve reliability, performance, and maintainability.Partner with product, platform, cybersecurity, and compliance teams to implement secure software delivery practices, access controls, governance standards, internal tooling, and technical documentation that improve productivity and knowledge sharing.Other duties as assigned. What are the qualifications? Serve with Excellence As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study and seven (7) or more years of DevOps Engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong experience with Kubernetes, including deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications, with supporting experience in Docker, Helm, and Linux environments.Experience with DevOps automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, or similar CI/CD and automation technologies.Working knowledge of scripting and observability tooling, including Bash, PowerShell, Python, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar technologies, with experience leveraging AI tools to improve automation and operational efficiency.12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
