Work on software that enables mobile robots to navigate industrial environments with high precision and reliability. The role contributes to smarter, safer, and more sustainable automation in manufacturing and logistics.

Description

Technology matters most when it makes a real difference by helping people, taking over demanding tasks, and enables industries to become smarter, safer, and more sustainable. Knowing where you are changes where you can go. Material flows are becoming increasingly autonomous in factories and logistics environments. Mobile robots need to move goods safely, efficiently, and with ever greater precision. At SICK Accerion, we're solving one of robotics' biggest challenges: enabling mobile robots to know exactly where they are. Accurately, reliable and even in highly dynamic industrial environments. Not with GPS. Not with QR codes. Not with magnetic strips. And we're doing that as part of something bigger. Within SICK's new Material Flow Solutions Business Unit, we combine our sensor intelligence, software and systems expertise to create intelligent, software-driven solutions that solve real customer needs. It is our mission is to make material flows in manufacturing and logistics operations smarter, more efficient, and increasingly autonomous. Our solutions portfolio brings together a range of technologies, including LiDAR-LOC, picoScan-LOC, CODE-LOC, Triton FLOOR-LOC and Mobile Robot Manager (MRM). Where SICK Accerion comes into play: Mobile Robot localization. At SICK Accerion, our expertise lies in Mobile Robot Localization, with Triton FLOOR-LOC at the heart of what we do. Triton uses a vision-based technology to recognize the natural microstructures of the floor beneath a mobile robot and continuously determines its position with sub-millimeter accuracy and without requiring any additional infrastructure. It can operate as a stand-alone localization system or in combination with other technologies in our portfolio, such as LiDAR-LOC and PICO-LOC. Eager to shape the future of Material Flow Solutions with us? As our new Senior Software Engineer, Triton FLOOR-LOC will be your primary playground, but your perspective doesn’t stop there. You'll develop the robust software behind our technology, create cutting-edge solutions for localization and navigation, and help evolve Triton while looking beyond a single solution. This includes exploring how software, localization approaches and technologies across our broader solutions portfolio can work together to solve material flow challenges. The technology you'll work on is already proving itself in real industrial and warehouse environments around the world, where performance, robustness and reliability truly matter. As our new senior engineer, you'll have the opportunity to influence not just how we build today, but where our technology goes next. You are going to join an already highly skilled development team where ideas are challenged, expertise is shared and mentoring and learning go both ways. We don't just write code. We're building meaningful technology together. Our Tech stack Modern C++ · Python · Linux · OpenCV · ROS2 · GitLab · CI/CD Your focus areas will be: 01 - Build and evolve our localization technology. Design and develop robust, high-quality software in modern C++ and Python, advancing vision-based localization and navigation for mobile robots in demanding industrial environments. Develop new features and evolve the software behind Triton FLOOR-LOC, while looking beyond Triton to broader localization and navigation solutions. Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from concept and architecture to implementation, testing and deployment. 02 - Shape the technical direction. You'll have a real voice in how we build our technology and where we take it next. Take ownership of software architecture, technical solutions, cybersecurity, and engineering quality. Turn complex challenges around performance, robustness, and reliability into well-designed, maintainable solutions. Make thoughtful technical decisions that keep our software scalable and ready to meet both today's demands and what's coming next. 03 - Mentor others. Grow together. Be a mentor and sparring partner within our already highly skilled development team. Share your experience and expertise through code reviews, pair programming and knowledge sharing, challenge each other's thinking and learn from one another. Together, you'll keep raising the technical bar and help the team grow. 04 – Keep making things better. Continuously improve the way we build and deliver software. Strengthen our CI/CD and DevOps practices, improve code quality, automated testing and development processes, and help evolve our engineering standards, documentation and ways of working. Always keep an eye out for opportunities to make the way we work more efficient, consistent, and effective. Let’s talk about the profile we are looking for, does did look like you?
