Job Overview
We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer – PHP / Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) with strong hands-on experience in PHP, Magento 2, APIs, GraphQL, event-driven architecture, cloud services, and backend performance optimization.
The ideal candidate will work closely with the Architect, lead implementation efforts, mentor engineers, and support production systems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and extend Magento 2 APIs, GraphQL resolvers, modules, services, plugins, observers, cron jobs, and message-queue consumers.Build REST/GraphQL APIs and backend service layers.Integrate with Catalog, Pricing, Inventory, Promotions, PIM, ERP, and OMS platforms.Implement event-driven architecture using RabbitMQ or similar messaging platforms.Work with AWS/cloud-native services, caching, databases, queues, and observability.Optimize Magento performance including indexing, database load, caching, asynchronous processing, and high-volume workloads.Build middleware/adapters to support phased commerce migrations.Perform automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, debugging, and production support.Provide technical leadership and mentor development teams.Partner closely with the Architect on implementation and technical decisions.Required Skills
