ADAS Perception Engineer -Munich, Germany (Hybrid working, 3+ days onsite weekly) -12 month freelance contract, potential to extend -ASAP start We are currently seeking an ADAS Perception Engineer to join our client; a global technology company at the forefront of next-generation automotive electronics and intelligent mobility solutions. Working with leading automotive manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers, the company develops cutting-edge semiconductor platforms and software that power Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and the future of autonomous driving. As an ADAS Perception Engineer, you will play a key role in building AI-driven perception technology that helps vehicles understand their surroundings and improve road safety. This ADAS Perception Engineer opportunity offers the chance to work alongside highly experienced computer vision, AI and embedded software engineers on production-grade automotive technology, and to work on technology deployed in millions of vehicles worldwide. Key Responsibilities Design, implement and validate a camera-based lane detection and tracking pipeline for ADAS applications.Develop and optimise neural network models for lane marking and lane boundary detection.Build robust lane tracking and geometry modelling algorithms for real-time vehicle perception.Develop and refine Lane Departure Warning logic, including vehicle state estimation and warning strategies.Optimise perception software for embedded automotive hardware while meeting real-time performance requirements.Collaborate closely with systems, integration and validation teams to support vehicle-level testing and deployment. Required Experience & Skills At least 4 years' of post-academic industry experience developing computer vision or perception systems for ADAS or autonomous driving applications.Strong Python development skills with hands-on experience using PyTorch for deep learning.Excellent C++ programming skills for production software development.Experience with semantic segmentation, lane detection, object detection or related perception algorithms.Strong understanding of camera calibration, image processing, perspective transformation and classical computer vision techniques.Experience with tracking algorithms such as Kalman Filters, Extended Kalman Filters or Particle Filters.Knowledge of lane geometry modelling, curve fitting or vehicle localisation techniques.Experience deploying AI models onto embedded or automotive compute platforms.Understanding of real-time software constraints within automotive systems.
