You’ll make things happen–fast. About The Role As a Senior Backend Software Engineer on the Apps team, you'll be at the forefront of building and scaling ZoomInfo's core backend services. You'll work primarily with Node.js to develop robust, high-performance systems that power our platform and serve millions of users. You'll design and implement scalable microservices, optimize existing systems, and build infrastructure that enables rapid feature development. Your expertise in Node.js will be essential, while knowledge of Java will provide valuable flexibility in our diverse technology ecosystem. What You'll Do Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and related frameworksArchitect and implement microservices that handle high-volume traffic and complex business logicLeverage AI-powered development tools (such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development, improve code quality, and solve complex technical challengesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new featuresOptimize application performance, scalability, and reliabilityWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practicesParticipate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers on modern development practices, including effective use of AI assistance toolsTroubleshoot and resolve production issues in distributed systemsContribute to technical architecture decisions and system designImplement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for backend servicesStay current with emerging technologies, AI-assisted development practices, and industry best practices What You Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience6+ years of experience with backend software development using Node.js and Angular3+ years of experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems2+ years of experience leading projects and providing technical leadershipStrong expertise in Node.js frameworks and technologiesExperience with RESTful API design and microservices architectureProficiency with relational and NoSQL databases like MongoDB Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science or EngineeringExperience with Java for backend development (strong advantage)Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms)Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI technologies to enhance productivity, code quality, and problem-solvingExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesFamiliarity with message queuing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)Experience with performance optimization and scalabilityStrong understanding of software design patterns and clean code principlesPassion for exploring and adopting innovative development tools and methodologies Actual compensation offered will be based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, qualifications, skills, experience and/or training. Below is the US base salary for this position.
