Description
A Digital Wealth Management house requires a development operations engineer to work on a brand new, web & mobile platform they are building from scratch.
As a business, their focus is on the personal relationship they develop with customers, underpinned by multi-channel customer reach and global investment expertise via a digital Investment Management platform.
Entirely in the cloud, taking advantage of powerful commoditised offerings, the firm is building a bespoke cloud-native solution.
Backed by one of the largest names in the Asset Management space, this FinTech was created 4 years ago, and, whilst having the stability and backing of a major firm, build their own technology.
Whilst their current product has been running for 4 years, the reason this hire is critical, is the firm are about to embark and build a brand-new product from scratch.
As the Senior Platform Engineer, you will act as a hands-on technical leader within the Platform & Infrastructure team, helping shape and deliver the organisation's cloud and infrastructure strategy.
You will play a key role in designing, building, and operating a secure, scalable Azure estate, enabling development teams to deliver applications efficiently through modern platform capabilities including CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, Kubernetes, and observability tooling.
Working closely with engineering and architecture teams, you will support cloud adoption and application modernisation initiatives, ensuring solutions are resilient, compliant, and operationally ready from day one.
You will champion engineering best practices and platform standardisation, driving automation and operational excellence across the technology function.
You will take ownership of complex technical challenges, leading the implementation of delivery pipelines and reusable platform services using technologies such as GitLab, Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes.
In addition, you will contribute to the growth of the wider team through technical mentorship, knowledge sharing, and the development of architecture documentation, standards, and operational procedures, helping to establish a robust and future-proof platform capability.
Salary and Benefits:
This role is paying up to £100,000 + Bonus, Benefits
📍The role is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week in the office.
Based in London City with access to major tube stations.
✅Responsibilities:
You have a solid understanding of the opportunities of cloud computing and how to use it well.Experienced in an Azure environment with microservices architecture.You have worked on public-facing systems, and understand how to build them to be secure, scalable and resilient.You can clearly articulate what DevOps and DevSecOps mean to you, and what a healthy approach is to these concepts.You have experience in driving adoption and defining best practice, and guiding developers in adhering to these.You understand how and where quality can be tested in automated CI/CD pipelines.You retain hands on engineering skills in some or all of our core technical stack: Terraform/PowerShell/Kubernetes/Azure.
