Role Description The DevOps Engineer role is a full-time hybrid position based in Ontario, Canada, with flexibility for partial work from home.
Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing infrastructure and environments, and ensuring reliable deployment practices across development and production systems.
The DevOps Engineer will collaborate closely with software developers, QA teams, and system administrators to automate workflows, improve release processes, monitor system performance, and enhance security and reliability.
The role also involves troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing Linux-based systems, and contributing to best practices in DevOps, documentation, and operational standards.
Qualifications
Strong System Administration and Linux skills, including managing servers, monitoring performance, and ensuring system reliability.Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices to provision, configure, and manage cloud or on-premise environments.Proficiency in Software Development concepts and scripting to build automation, integrate tools, and support CI/CD workflows.Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and delivery pipelines using modern DevOps tools and version control systems.Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related security and networking best practices is an asset.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Relevant post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
