Technical/Functional Skills & Key Qualifications
• Good experience on DevOps – using AWS (EKS, ELB, S3, EBS, EFS, RDS and CloudWatch), Kubernetes, Kustomize, Flux, Crossplane, CRDs, Python, Github, Kafka, Linux, Trino
• Good experience with Core Kubernetes fundamentals – on deployments, troubleshooting
• DevOps experience/understanding pertaining to data platform aspects – in this regard, associate should have experience and understanding of how Apache services integrate and works (using Kafka, Trino, Superset, Airflow, Spark, Jupyter notebook, Ranger)
• Proficient in Python coding; also packaging Python code and deploying to EKS
• Monitoring – Good overall experience and on understanding logs and troubleshooting.
• Strong experience with performance and troubleshooting aspects –
o High traffic Application performance monitoring and troubleshooting ensuring high availability
o Tracking key metrics
o Load balancing
• Good understanding of SSL/TLS Handshake
• Experience with EKS cluster Upgrade process
• Good experience using GitHub
• Good experience with Big Data and Lakehouse (Apache Iceberg) – for Data Pipeline and Lakehouse reliability
o Experience operating Apache Iceberg — table maintenance, compaction, snapshot management, schema and partition evolution, and time-travel.
o Strong Apache Spark operations and tuning (memory, shuffle, partitioning, skew); working knowledge of Apache Kafka and Apache Flink for streaming.
o Query engine operations with Trino
• Infrastructure-as-Code, Containers, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
o Terraform (Infrastructure-as-Code) to production standard; modular, reviewed, and state-managed.
o Docker and Kubernetes (Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)) for containerized workloads and platform tooling.
o CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins) with automated testing and safe deployment practices.
