Company Description Qyvox is building privacy-preserving identity infrastructure for organizations that need to verify eligibility without storing unnecessary personal data. Its client-proving, server-verifying architecture replaces transmission of raw attributes with compact cryptographic proofs, reducing exposure of sensitive information. The current research implementation focuses on age eligibility, with a roadmap that includes issuer-backed credentials, revocation, challenge binding, and reusable verification policies. Qyvox aims to lessen the security risk and operational burden created by centralized identity data stores, offering safer and more efficient verification solutions for partners. Role Description The ZK Research Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bāgmatī, Nepal. In this position, the engineer will design, analyze, and implement zero-knowledge (ZK) protocols and related cryptographic primitives that power Qyvox’s privacy-preserving identity infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and optimizing algorithms for client-proving and server-verifying workflows, collaborating with product and engineering teams to translate research results into robust prototypes, and conducting experiments to evaluate performance, security, and usability. The role also involves contributing to technical documentation, engaging with the broader research community, and iterating on features such as issuer-backed credentials, revocation mechanisms, and reusable verification policies. Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and systems concepts.Experience in Research and Development (R&D) and applied Research, ideally in cryptography, privacy technologies, or security engineering.Background in Physics or related quantitative fields, with the ability to model and reason about complex systems.Proficiency in designing and analyzing Algorithms for cryptographic protocols, zero-knowledge proofs, or secure multi-party computation.Hands-on programming experience in languages commonly used for cryptographic and systems work (e.g., Rust, C++, Go, or similar).Familiarity with modern zero-knowledge proof systems (e.g., SNARKs, STARKs, Bulletproofs) and public-key cryptography concepts.Ability to read and evaluate academic papers, implement reference designs, and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.Comfort working in a small, fast-paced team environment and collaborating across disciplines to ship research-backed products.
