Title: Full Stack Engineer (Backend-Leaning)
Time: Full-Time
Location: New York, NY (5 days in-office)
Compensation: $175K - $225K + 0.5%–0.85% Equity

Our client builds the unified software platform for federal spectrum licensing, coordination, and intelligence.
They are backed by top venture capital firms including a16z, Squadra Ventures, and FYSK, and are based in NYC.
Role Overview
Our client is looking for a backend-leaning Full Stack Engineer with 3 to 6 years of experience to help build their foundational platform.
In this high-autonomy, high-impact role, you will own large portions of the product end-to-end, work directly with government customers, and make critical architectural decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Architect and build core APIs and backend systems across three product pillars: licensing workflows, a large-scale data library, and a physics-based spectrum analysis engine.
• Own features end-to-end from concept through backend implementation to frontend delivery.
• Make key architectural trade-offs between scalability and speed in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.
• Participate in customer-facing sessions, translate user feedback into product decisions, and present new capabilities in bi-weekly sprint reviews.
• Work across cloud infrastructure (AWS), container orchestration, and event-driven architectures to build mission-critical, production-grade systems.
Qualifications
• 3 to 6 years of experience in full-stack (backend-leaning) software engineering within a 0 to 1, high-ownership startup environment.
• Proven experience shipping production backend systems at a Seed to Series C startup as an IC with a 70% backend / 30% frontend focus.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals including API design, schema design, authentication, and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Experience with Python for backend development and in-depth experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, AWS GovCloud).
• Experience with event-driven or distributed architectures (Kafka or equivalent).
• Proficiency with AI coding agents and modern AI developer tools.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to NYC for a 5-day per week in-office schedule.
• Must be eligible for a US security clearance or currently hold one (US citizenship or permanent residency required).
