Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages. 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.3 years of experience with software development in training, developing or applying machine learning models.1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.Experience developing accessible technologies.Experience with building Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) or Enterprise Software is a strong plus. You will be working closely with researchers, engineers, and product managers from both Google Cloud AI and Google Research, developing challenging machine learning solutions that will contribute directly to Google's product excellence. Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain the features and components for GenAI-powered developer tools, focusing on server-side code and middleware systems that interact with Google's latest LLMs.Take end-to-end ownership of moderately complex projects or major features, from technical design and scoping through implementation, launch, and production support.Collaborate closely with product managers, researchers, Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), and other engineers to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver robust and scalable solutions.Author and present detailed design documents for features and system improvements. Participate in and contribute to design and code reviews, ensuring high standards of quality and engineering excellence.Uphold and advocate for software engineering best practices within the team, with a focus on code quality, test coverage, system reliability, performance optimization, and maintainability.
